Jeffrey Pratt
Artist Jeffrey Pratt was born in 1940 and started out in the art world on a part time basis training at the St.Martins School of Art. His hard work paid off as he begun to exhibit regularly in America. Jeffrey became a full time painter after his family had grown up and his business passed to his son Dominic.
Jeffrey Pratt is now well known for his bold brush and passion for colour and light. His work is inspired by hu many trips around the world including Turkey, Europe, Africa and India. His favourite destinations are the south of France and Africa which provide him with the fine light he seeks.
Jeffrey’s paintings are collected world-wide and have been exhibited in Singapore, Jamaica and the USA including one man shows around the U.S.A. London exhibitions include Cricket Fine Art, The Kenulf, Lloyds of London, Park Street Gallery and London Contemporary Art Fair.

David Farrant
In recent years, David has stepped away from portrait commissions to focus on figurative work. He paints primarily in oils, often choosing a larger scale to ensure his pieces hold their own within a home setting. His compositions frequently suggest a narrative, offering viewers a glimpse of a story in motion. Yet it is the play of light—particularly the warmth and drama of sunlight—that continually drives his creative process. Drawing on subtle moments of human connection and everyday life, he creates evocative scenes layered with gentle tones, softened colour palettes, and intricate shadow work.
David explains: “I like to feel my paintings function on two levels. Formally, they rely on strong tonal contrasts, simplified shapes and carefully placed colour accents. Narratively, I hope they evoke a mood and the sense of a story left open for the viewer to complete.”
His work is represented in numerous private collections across the UK and internationally, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the United States.
Jim Farrant
Jim’s signature style blends bold, expressive brushstrokes with a precise, highly realistic finish. This thoughtful fusion gives his paintings a sense of authenticity while retaining a vibrant, contemporary energy. Although his technique is often too controlled to fall neatly into the ‘painterly’ category, his work still echoes the spontaneity of abstract expressionism and the textured immediacy of impressionist method. The result is a body of work that remains unmistakably his own—distinctive, recognisable, and uniquely crafted.

' I love to paint elegant women in beautiful clothes in glamorous settings. I'm not really inspired by fashion per se but the feel of fashion from the past. The Forties and Fifties in particular have a classic ageless beauty. I am enormously influenced by the elegant and beautiful fashion drawings by illustrators of this period as well as contemporary fashion artists and illustrator's working today.

Hugo Grenville
Hugo Grenville first exhibited in London at the Chelsea Arts Society at the age of 15, although it took him another 14 years to become a full time painter. After leaving school he travelled the Hippy Trail to India, ran out of money, joined the Coldstream Guards and served as an officer in Northern Ireland, West Africa, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) during the Civil War, and finally as an Aide-de-Camp to C-in-C British Army of the Rhine, during which time he painted whenever possible, and studied part-time at Chelsea School of Art and Heatherley’s.
Robert Hornyold-Strickland
Robert has always been interested in the arts (especially sculpture, painting and photography) from an early age. However, he first had a career in accountancy before starting a series of companies in the UK and Europe, and then he retired at the age of 45 to look after his wife and three children. Robert is largely self-taught but studied initially at the Heatherley School of Art in Chelsea in 1997 before turning professional in 2004. His paintings have been influenced by the teachings of Robin Child in the UK and by his travels worldwide. He now lives between Malta in the Mediterranean and Scotland and maintains a studio in each location, but he can work virtually anywhere in the world. He has exhibited in London and all over the world and has been purchased by collectors around the globe. His sculpture commissions have included friends, historical figures such as Admiral Lord Nelson, as well as senior military and industrial figures and presidents of countries. His paintings are largely abstract but often informed by the landscapes and interiors he sees.
Celia Montague
Celia Montague is a portrait and landscape painter based in Oxford and Venice. She graduated from St. Hugh's College, Oxford with an M.A. in Modern and Mediaeval Languages, then trained for and was called to the Bar. After a brief career as a barrister in London, she left for drama school and became an actress. She worked widely on stage, television, film and audiobooks while bringing up two sons, before training as a painter. Studies in life drawing over a number of years at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art in Oxford led to her taking the Portrait Diploma for painters at Heatherley's School of Fine Art in London, and then life painting for a further two years at the Prince's Drawing School. As a landscape painter in England, she finds the motifs that inspire her by exploring in her painting van, from which she can paint in most weathers. She has exhibited regularly in England since graduating from Heatherleys.
Kieran Stiles
British artist Kieran Stiles was born in 1970 and studied at Falmouth School of Art (1989-92). He works from his studio on Folly Bridge Island, Oxford, but the colours, shapes and changing light of the Cornish coast and the Scilly Isles continue to inform and inspire his work. His evocative images fizzle with life and electric colour. Each work is a painterly expression of an individual and particular sense of place. Layers of oil paint are superimposed with fractured marks, dashes and splatters that capture the spirit of a continually changing landscape.
Caro SaintVire
Caro SaintVire grew up in a family of artists. Her mother is a portrait painter with clients all around the globe, her grandfather was a painter and sculptor. Caro graduated from the University of Brighton with a first class degree in Fine Art and took postgrad courses at Chelsea College of Art and Design whilst honing her style and technique. She works within the field of abstracted realism, inspired by the breathtaking natural world around us.
Living abroad in the Swiss Alps gave her an enormous appreciation of mountains, big skies and glorious space. Much of which informs her work. Her travels around Europe and the spectacular landscapes and skies of the USA are all influences in her subject matter. Living on the South Coast of the UK she continues to be inspired by the sublime skies, sunsets and sunrises.
Charlotte Lyon
Self taught but strongly influenced by both parents; the sculptor Peter Lyon and Toby Lyon, the Portal painter. Her grandfather was Robert Lyon, principle of Edinburgh School of Art and tutor to The Pitmen Painters, recently made into a play by Lee Hall. Her early work has been dominated by the animal form, depicted in twisted sculptural shapes expressing both power and confinement by filling the canvas.
Valerie Hadida
Valerie Hadida is a contemporary French Sculptor and painter, working mainly in Bronze and Clay.
Her work has been described as a "poetic encounter" meant to make us travel the path of women from adolescence to maturity and through the various emotions and moods that drive these generations of women.
Trained at L'Ecole d'Arts Plastiques et Publicite de la ville de Paris (EMSAT) she has exhibited in galleries since 1990. We have had the honour to collaborate with her in the UK since 2005 and have placed many of her bronzes in homes throughout the Uk.
Ann Oram
Ann Oram trained at Edinburgh College of Art (ECA). After her post-graduate year and Andrew Grant Scholarship to France and Italy, Ann returned to ECA to lecture in the Painting school. Ann has spent many years living and working abroad and the inspiration she gets from her travels helps to keep her work fresh and vibrant. During the 1980s, she spent many years living in southern Spain and, more recently, Ann has returned from a long spell in Vienna, Austria. The Austrian journey adventure also allowed her to work in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary. Ann exhibits widely throughout the UK, including London, Oxfordshire, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Her work is included in many private and corporate collections throughout the world.
Michael Hyam
Julian Bailey
Artist Julian Bailey was born in 1963 and lives with his family near Dorchester. He had is first exhibition at the Malvern Public Library whilst still at school. He was a student at Ruskin whilst attending New College Oxford, from there he went on to attend the prestigious Royal Academy Schools where he was awarded the Turner Gold Medal and the Landseer Scholarship.
His first major one man exhibition was held in London in 1991, exhibiting regularly since then after joining Browse & Darby in 1999, he was their youngest artist.
Julian settled in Dorset with his family in 1998 where he started painting landscapes and the Dorset coastline.
We are so pleased to be able to exhibit and have for sale a selection of Julian’s unique paintings.
Tom Benjamin
Born in Totnes and Devon, Tom studied at Brighton Polytechnic and Norwich School of Art. After graduation he returned to East Sussex and has spent much of his working life in Lewes. A plein air painter, he paints the Pembrokeshire coast, Dorset’s Jurassic Coast and the Gower Penin sula as well as his local Sussex coast line. He has exhibited regularly around Britain and teaches his craft at Paddock Art Studios in Lewes and at West Dean College in West Sussex.
